ERWIN IMMERMAN - "THE BLACK SPIDER"



Around 1954 on Channel 7, WXYZ-TV Detroit, Michigan; Erwin "Edwin" Immerman was "The Black Spider" on the show "The Black Spider"; presenting hair-raising movies.



Around June 1954, Immerman was involved in a car collision where he received a fractured hip, and was admitted to the Ford Hospital to undergo surgery. It is not known if he returned to the show.



ERWIN IMMERMAN

Born Erwin "Erv" Immerman in Bay City, Michigan, USA in 1926; the son of Lena and Abraham Immerman. Also known as Edwin, Immerman passed away on 7 February 2007 after a long illness. He moved to Los Angeles in 1959 and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild for 48 years, with his career focusing on voice over/narration. Erwin's professional life began in the early years of television, as a local program host - "The Black Spider" in Detroit. A regular in film, television, network commercials, corporate promotions and documentaries, he was honored by The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the International Film & Television Festival of New York.
