SLIME THEATRE |
"Slime Theatre" was a hosted horror movie show with Howard Meagle as "Mr. Slime" (1973-1975) and Pat Bauley as "Dr. Sludge" (1975-1977) on Saturday nights at 11:00pm on WVIR Channel 29 Charlottesville, Virginia from 1973 to 1977. Meagle was not originally known as "Mr. Slime, the name came from the viewers.
The theme song came from a Frank Zappa tune, "I am the Slime". Hence the title "Slime Theatre." Tom Blaylock, came up with the show's logo. Bill Bowman was instrumental in helping make the show popular. The "Bowman Body" made many appearances on the show. Bill eventually returned to Richmond, Virginia to work for Educational TV.

After Howard Meagle left the show, the person who had been directing "Slime Theatre" assumed the position of host, Pat Bauley who called his character "Dr. Sludge".
