MORELLA PRESENTS GRAVEYARD THEATER

KIMBERLY A. RAY - "MORELLA"

Morella Presents Graveyard Theater was a direct to DVD hosted horror movie show during 2007-2008.

The show was hosted by Morella played by Kimberly A. Ray

and assisted by Spud "The Wonder Brain".

Kimberly A. Read (maiden name) was born on 8 August 1965 in Akron, Ohio, USA; and left a successful career in advertising in Ohio in 1995. She wanted write and produce films. Very quickly that happened.

She got into the prestigious Warner Brother's Sitcom Writer's Workshop in 1996. Although not hired, she decided producing was for her.

She soon worked her way up as un-paid Interns in almost every department. She met and married her 1st husband Fred Olen Ray, one of the most prolific film directors in the world, and soon married in 1997.

Although they divorced in 2017, they remain close friends and have two wonderful children together.

In 2019, Kim re-married to Actor and former Broadway dancer, Steven Scionti - whom she was actually introduced to by her former husband.

In 2007 Ray became Morella - "Ghost Hostess with the Mostest".

Produced by Retromedia Entertainemnt, "Morella Presents Graveyard Theater" was produced for the direct to DVD market.

Each show followed the classic hosted horror show formular, with "Morella" providing an introduction to the show, a little comedy, but usually nothing about the movie to be shown. It was likely that all the studio elements (bookends) were filmed first, then the movies were added later.

It is unknown how many shows were shot, but seven DVDs are on the market, each having between 1 - 3 episodes
These are:
"Morella Presents Graveyard Theater: Blood Flood"
"Morella Presents Graveyard Theater: Blood Vision"
"Morella Presents Graveyard Theater: Disciple of Death"
"Morella Presents Graveyard Theater: House of Evil"
"Morella Presents Graveyard Theater: Morella's All-Nite Spooktacular"
"Morella Presents Graveyard Theater: Terror in the Crypt"
"Morella Presents Graveyard Theater: The Blood Seekers"

At the time of writing, all titles are available from Amazon.

A DVD "Mad Monster Rally" was released that also featured some of Morella's titles, along with other titles.

Many thanks to Chris Cargo, for pointing out that the correct actor who played "Morella" was Kimberley A. Ray and not Glori-Anne Gilbert, who we originally listed as "Morella".
