| He's got a love as big as Texas for bad drive-in movies... and cold beer. Tonight I present Joe Bob Briggs, host of Joe Bob's Drive-In Theatre on The Movie Channel, which he hosted from 1986 to 1996. The show became the stations highest rated show and Briggs left only after TMC changed its format. Shortly after Drive-in Theatre, Briggs took over as host of Monstervision on TNT, which had previously been presented as specials hosted by Penn & Teller. Joe Bob hosted Monstervision from 1996 to 2000. John Bloom created Joe Bob's persona as a humorous outlet which allowed him to review exploitation and genre films. Bloom's career began as a writer for the Dallas Times Herald. He's written for numerous notable publications such as Playboy, Penthouse, The Rolling Stone, and National Lampoon; he's also written several books. So keep tabulating the breasts and body count when watching your drive-in movies, Joe Bob might like to know.
