CAPTAIN 20'S WORLD |
"Captain 20's World" was a children's hosted space science fiction show that aired on WDCA-TV Channel 20, Washington D.C., USA; Mondays to Fridays, at various air times, from 1969 to 1987, with host "Captain 20" played by John Kallimonis (1969-1970), John (Tony) Alexi (1970-1972); and then Richard (Dick) Dyszel (1972-1987).
Originally, Captain 20's character was that of an astronaut, but later would become an alien.
![]() "Captain 20", played by Dick Dyszel, also hosted the children's show "WOW!". The set was designed for one host and four children. Sometimes a child did not show, or as on a few rare occasions, up to six kids would participate due to some special activity. The format was very simple: One-by-one, each kid would slide-in "down the sliding board", introduce themselves to the viewing audience, and eat a nutritious snack.

Dick Dyszel would become the horror host "M.T. Graves" on the hosted horror movie series "Night of Terror"; and later the internationally known horror host "Count Gore De Vol" on "Creature Feature".
