FABRIZIO CASADIO

Fabrizio Casadio was born ion 3 October 1935 in Turin, Italy and passed away on 10 May 2015 in Milan Italy. Casadio was a radio host, television host and engineer. He was mainly active as a radio and television speaker and was defined by Armando Testa as "the most beautiful voice in Italy".

Casadio was born to Ugo, a mechanical engineer who invented girovagli (machines for sieving the sugar mixture) and Maria Mazza. Last of three brothers.

He graduated in engineering and architecture at the Polytechnic. He was also passionate about horses, he loved to ride when he could. Making the clear route was a great pleasure for him.

In the 1960s he built the "bucket wheel" for a mine. For a year he was Italy's representative at UNESCO, of whose Paris palace he contributed to the creation of the façade.

The first collaboration with Rai dates back to 1957: in that year Casadio presented the television program "Gran Pavese", broadcast in the afternoon at 5.30pm. In the 1950s and 1960s he was the presenter of highly prestigious programmes, such as "Le batte celebri" and "Il Leonardo", the latter of a scientific / informative nature. In 1971, he presented the program "The importance of calling yourself ..." in which he interviewed famous people such as Eleonora Rossi Drago, Gipo Farassino and others.

In the 1950s he collaborated with Elledici, lending his voice to some documentaries. When someone noticed his voice in the 1960s, Casadio dedicated himself, starting from 1966, to hosting some television programs for the "Television of the Boys" and was used as a substitute announcer at RAI Radio Torino.

Also in 1966 he presented the television program "Il Teatrino delle Mascheri".

In 1967 he was the presenter of the television program "The newspaper of sciences" and of the radio program "The Character"; furthermore he starred in the television series "The Tales of the Risorgimento".

But the big leap came in 1974, when advertisers discovered the potential of his voice. He then moved to Milan, the capital of advertising dubbing.

His voice became the most listened to on radio and television. In addition to advertising, he dedicated himself to dubbing television films and documentaries. Among the many advertisements he dubbed an advert for Vidal bubble bath and then replaced Alfredo Danti as the voice of the Caroselli della carne Montana with the cowboy Ringo, with the famous song by Adriano Celentano. He was also the voice of the Mentadent campaign "Prevention is better than cure", of the Brancamenta campaign "Twelve months of summer" and of the spot of the Catholic Connection Committee, that of the slogan "For a civilization of love".

He participated in the creation of some discs of poetic readings dedicated to the Italian regions and on religious topics.

He participated in the making of numerous documentaries also published on videocassette by Fonit Cetra.

From 3 January 1982 to 2 April 1998 he occupied the role of official voice of Italia 1; in the same period he collaborated with Radio Gemini One. He was also the voice of the famous horror puppet "Zio Tibia", presenter of the "Zio Tibia Picture Show", a television show broadcast on Italia 1.

In those years he was among the main founders of ADAP in Milan, the first and only Association of dubbing actors and advertising speakers of which he was, for a long time, president.

At the end of the 1990s the decline began, both due to the arrival of new voices and due to his personal choice; from 1993 to 1995 he gave voice to the commercials for Montana meat with the well-known slogan "It will be noon... noon as a cook".

He therefore continued with greater vigor in his other passions, through his engineering and architecture company.
